Eto’o plays as a striker for Chelsea FC as well as the Cameroon national football team. Some of his major sponsors include Puma and Ford, as reported by The Richest. In October 2013, he splurged on some car shopping and has certainly made good use of his salary by buying a fleet of cars reportedly worth £4 million, according to the Daily Mail. Eto’o bought an Aston Martin One-77 and V12 Zagato, as well as a luxury Maybach Xenatec. Reuters

Cameroon star striker Samuel Eto'o will not be able to feature against Croatia on Thursday (Sydney Time) in the Wolrd Cup due to a knee injury.

The 33-year-old Chelsea hitman played the entire 90 minutes in their opener against Mexico, but was a non-factor as he admitted that he was not fully fit during that game.

"The doctors confirm! I would probably not be able to play the match vs Croatia on Wed, june18th due to an injury on my knee causing me pain," the former Barcelona man tweeted.

He was not able to hide his frustration brought about by the setback since it might be the last time that he would be wearing the Indomitable Lions shirt.

"For three and a half months, I have not had the time to recover. You could see that even in the build-up to the World Cup I hadn't had a lot of practice until the friendly against Germany,"Eto'o told Cameroon state television.

"During the match against Mexico, I tried but after consulting the medical staff we realised that I needed a rest. Even in the ninth minute, I felt pain."
