UFO Briefly Halts Israel Air Traffic, Investigation Continues

By @jotfields on

Israeli military officials are looking into the unidentified flying object (UFO) that entered into the country's civilian air traffic. What could it be?

In an "exceptional" safety and security measure, the Israeli air space was closed on Wednesday for several minutes over the UFO incident.

The UFO sighting happened after the Israeli the air force shot down an unidentified and unarmed drone which had entered the Israeli airspace on Saturday. The drone reportedly entered the Israeli skies from the Mediterranean.

In an AFP news, it was noted that the Yediot Aharonot reported the Israeli air force had to try twice to shoot down the mysterious drone.

"This is not a failure, no other army in the world with Israel's aerial defence systems could prevent the infiltration of such aircraft," the Yediot quoted a senior air force source.

The AFP called Wednesday's incident a "false alarm," which was considered an effect of Saturday's drone tension. The Israeli military had no immediate comment on the matter.

Wednesday's UFO is surrounded by questions because no expert has come out yet to identify where it came from. It is understood investigation is still ongoing.

There are "suspicions [Wednesday's UFO] was operated by Hezbollah, the Lebanese Shiite militia," the AFP reported.
