Irish mixed martial artist Conor McGregor donned a pair of Cristiano Ronaldo's CR7 underwear during a pre-fight weigh in Ireland.
TMZ reported that McGregor has stripped down to his CR7 undies in Ireland for his bout against Diego Brandao at Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Fight Night 46 on July 19 held at the O2 Arena in Dublin. According to reports, McGregor was supposed to fight Cole Miller, but the latter was forced to pull out because of an injury. Brandao replaced Miller and ultimately suffered first round defeat in the second UFC event held in the capital and the largest city in Ireland. It was the first time that Brandao has reportedly suffered successive losses in the UFC.
McGregor, who had not fought in 11 months, was pleased with his victory and couldn't wait to fight again.
"I said, I would put him away in the first round, I put him away in the first round," said McGregor. "There is not a man alive that come on this soil and beat me."
McGregor said he wants to win world titles and compete in bigger arenas. ESPN reported that UFC president Dana White implied that McGregor's next fight could happen in Las Vegas. McGregor's win over Brandao is the "most significant" victory in his career because he has not tussled a top 10 opponent in his division previously, the comprehensive news outlet further wrote.
CR7 is Real Madrid superstar Cristiano's own range of underwear designed by New York native fashion designer Richard Chai and contrived by Danish underwear manufacturer JBS. Cristiano's underwear line includes four different styles such as briefs, trunks, American boxers, and Long Johns. It also features a collection for boys. In addition to the undergarments, CR7 also offers a socks collection.
Recently, Cristiano announced on Twitter that he will soon be launching CR7 shirts as well. Fans of the Portuguese footballer ought to have just about enough for a complete ensemble.
