Malaysia Airlines tweets a moving message as a way of tribute to the victims of both flights MH370 and MH17. The message was received affectionately by people across social media channels and the world.
"Tough times do not last, tough people do #staystrong, " Malaysia Airlines posted in its Twitter account, together with a picture showing two of its flight attendants holding hands. The message had gone viral within 12 hours with 3,700 retweets and more than 1,600 likes.
Through its message, the company's pain and ache about the tragedies was greatly reflected. Hence, netizens were quick to acknowledge the sincerity and the message "tough times do not last, tough people do" with the hashtag "#staystrong" had since widely circulating across the globe, affecting more and more of supporters.
Netizens not only expressed their support of the victims' families but also to Malaysia Airlines itself.
"@MAS special thoughts and prayers for Malaysia airlines and all the people who work there #staystrong" posted one Twitter user.
For another Twitter user, MAS "would definitely be my 1st choice for travel."
Malaysia Airlines also announced that it will be holding an interfaith prayer on Saturday at 8:30 pm to be held at the Malaysia Airlines Academy in Kelana Jaya, Selangor.
This is the first time that Malaysia Airlines posted an emotional message in the course of both the MH370 and MH17 tragedy. The airlines had previously used its account only for official statements.
In the wake of the MH17 tragedy, the airlines had also offered full refunds to those customers who wished to cancel their flights without any penalty.
On Wednesday, the airlines had retired its flight number MH17 following airline industry protocol of not using a particular flight number after a tragedy.
Meanwhile, Singapore Airlines was under fire after it posted through Facebook an uncaring status saying: "Customers may wish to note that Singapore Airlines flights are not using Ukraine airspace."
Netizens were quick to slam the airlines for being appallingly insensitive as it became obvious that it wanted profit from the tragedy.
Singapore Airlines had since issued a public apology.
