Transnet Strike

Members of the SA Transport and Allied Workers’ Union (Satawu) started a strike against Transnet on May 10, 2010. The United Trade and Allied Union (Utatu) joined the mass action on Wednesday.

The unions had rejected an 11 percent wage increase offer by Transnet, originally demanding 15 percent and then lowering their demand to 12 percent.
