The infamous leader of the Islamic State, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, violates the tenants of Quran, the slain U.S. journalist Steven Sotloff's family summoned.
In a strong message, they hoped to reach the notorious ISIS' leader, the family condemns al-Baghdadi of violating the tenants of Quran -- the very faith believed to be the foundation of what the group was fighting for.
In the statement, they asked for the leader to answer for the sin with the execution of Sotloff.
"I have a message for Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. The month of Ramadan is the month of mercy. Where is your mercy?" family spokesman Barak Barfi read the statement written in Arabic.
The family referred to the execution as "Wayluk" -- an Arabic expression to describe a great sin.
The statement quoted passages from the Quran that al-Baghdadi had violated.
"I am here debating you with kindness. I do not have a sword in my hand and I am ready for your answer", the statement went.
In ending their statement, the family said that yes they were grieving; they will even mourn in the weeks to come, but that they will definitely emerge from the ordeal; they will not allow the enemies to hold them hostage with the sole weapons they possess -- fear.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Tony Abbott described the killing of Sotloff as pure evil -- "it revels in evil", "it exalts in evil". He said that whatever Australia's action against the group is justified as it protects people from ISIS' murderous rage.
Mr. Abbott said that ISIS poses a threat to all people to the wider world.
For Mr. Abbott, U.S. President Barack Obama had just retaliated against the brutality of ISIS with the appropriate combination of reason and appropriate anger.
In words full with rage, Mr. Abbott said that leaders have all the right to be appalled -- "absolutely appalled", -- for the "abominable, unspeakable, repellent and abhorrent" practice of ISIS.
However, Mr. Abbott underlined, that hate should not shroud country leaders' judgement in planning the retaliation against the group -- and this was exactly what Mr. Obama had done.
