The Sony Xperia Z1 compact was released in the month of January 2014. This handset is packed with good features and it provides great software and hardware performances. The Sony Xperia Z2, on the other hand, was released in February 2014 but the phone was not available widely. The Xperia Z1 Compact has a 4.3 inches IPS LCD display, with a screen resolution of 720 x 1,280 pixels. Whereas the Sony Xperia Z2 comes with a bigger screen size of 5.2 inches, with 1,080 x 1,920 pixels resolution. The Xperia Z2 is capable of supporting up to 424 ppi of pixel density, which is much higher than the 342 ppi of the Xperia Z1 Compact.

The Xperia Z1 Compact runs on Android v4.3 Jelly Bean (upgradable to higher versions), while the latest Xperia Z2 runs on Android v4.4.2 KitKat OS.


Both the phones sport a superior 20.7 MP rear-facing camera unit with LED flash. The difference comes in the form of front-facing camera, the Xperia Z2 features a 2.2 MP camera and the Xperia Z1 Compact features a 2 MP camera.
