Giving an aura of innovation, Samsung's beta version of 850 PRO SSD is out and it looks very promising from many perspectives, reports Beta News. Conceptually Solid State Drives or SSD works like a hard disk drive (HDD) but inside it no moving parts will be there. Compared to HDD, SSD is ultra fast and its price is ten times higher than HDD.
Samsung's VNAND Technology
What makes Samsung special in 850 PRO SSD is that it has emerged a pioneer by introducing VNAND long before its competition could launch it. Samsung announced the mass production of the in-house technology and has taken a vanguard position over the competition.
Samsung has readied four versions of the 850 Pro for the market-- 128GB, 256GB, 512GB and 1TB models
Samsung's 850 Pro SSD series is powered by the in-house 32 layer 3D V-NAND technology. It offers twice the density and write speed of a traditional 20nm planar NAND flash.
Tested and Proven
Although Samsung's 3D V-NAND technology is new, it is fully tested. Under this technology the company has mass-produced a 24-layer version for a datacenter and that experience is powering Samsung to work on the world's first V-NAND SSDs for client PCs as the 850 Pro.
The 850 Pro offers has the double endurance of a typical NAND flash based SSD thanks to V-NAND technology. The drive is fitted with Samsung's MDX controller (S4LN045X01-8030); triple-core ARM-based chip supports SATA 6Gb/s and is paired with the latest flash memory.
The Self-Encrypting Drive (SED) security is backed by a hardware-based AES 256-bit encryption engine. The hardware-based engine is making the data secure without performance degradation as it happens in software-based encryptions.
Users have the flexibility to erase or initialize data with the crypto erase service with PSID. The 850 Pro is compliant with all advanced security management solutions. The Magician software guides users through all the security features.
Ten -year Warranty
Samsung is offering an incredible 10-year warranty for the 850 Pro SSD series. The warranty period is double compared to previous 840 Pro SSD series.
