The latest Android flagship smartphone from Samsung is now out. Hereis a rundown of the specs and features of the new Samsung Galaxy S5.
The Samsung Galaxy S5 is a bit larger than the Samsung Galaxy S4 but the two devices appear very alike. Disappointing to some fans, the Galaxy S5 still sports a plastic chassis.
On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy S5 is dustproof and water-resistant, which is a pretty new sight in the flagship scene.
The Samsung Galaxy S5 checks in at 142 x 72.5 x 8.1mm and 145g, which is 15g more than the its predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy S4. Its back is sporting a dotted texture, which aims to improve the grip of the smartphone.
The Samsung Galaxy S5 is undoubtedly powerful and snappy with its quad-core Qualcomm 2.5GHz processor and 2GB of RAM. Android 4.4.2 KitKat comes pre-installed with the smartphone, which comes with an improved design, flawless performance, ability to launch Google search using voice command, simpler UI, faster multi-tasking and improvements in prioritising contacts.
Screen, Display and Camera
The Samsung Galaxy S5 sports a 5.1 inches full HD Super AMOLED touchscreen display, which offers sharp images. The camera is improved from the Galaxy S4's 13MP to 16MP sensor rear camera with the ability to focus in up to 0.3 seconds. Also, it features a selective focus, which allows users to choose the focus point of an image after it was already taken. Basically, this feature recreates the depth-of-field effect seen on digital cameras.
