Due to the incredible success of Samsung Galaxy S3, rumors and speculations appear towards the successor of the best-selling smartphone.
Even though the device is in the initial stages of design and production, discussions about the possibilities and additions in the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S4 emerged left and right online. Consumers are buzzing with gossip regarding the much awaited new phone in Samsung Galaxy S series.
One of the major rumors that are circulating is the inclusion of flexible and unbreakable screen in the device. Many people speak of a screen that can fold in any direction and hence does not break.
This never-heard-before piece of technology is not as impossible as it seems. Being known for their OLED displays, Samsung just might pull it off as OLED has the capacity to endure such experiments.
Talking about this rumor, Nicolas Gaudois, USB analyst says, "Looking to the first half of 2013, we see evidence of Samsung likely accelerating the release of the Galaxy S IV - compared with May (this year) for the Galaxy S III, We believe preparations for volume manufacturing of unbreakable plastic substrate displays continue. All in all, we could see a strong products push in the high-end in the first half, followed by other releases."
Mark Newman, analyst of Sanford Bernstein predicts that Samsung's revolutionary feature of flexible AMOLED screen will debut with either Galaxy S4 or Galaxy S5 probably.
He says- "Eventually, they'll have unbreakable and flexible displays. Either the Galaxy S IV or S V will have unbreakable and even possibly flexible and foldable displays by 2014. That's going to be a game-changer".
Many are doubtful that the smartphone will make an appearance at the CES or MWC events. Due to the hype around the device, it is most likely that Samsung will hold a big launching event next year.
It is initially speculated that Korea's tech giant will lift the lid off the new smartphone mid next year, most probably around April or May. This is just right to maximize the profits for Samsung Galaxy S3.
It was previously reported that the Samsung Galaxy S4 will sport a 5-inch full HD display with full 1080p and a whopping 440 pixels per inch. The device will be powered by two quad core chips.
The Galaxy S4 might also sport a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera, which will intimate other smartphones with 8MP back shooters.
The handset should come with a minimum of 2GB RAM, although there are reports that Samsung is testing an unidentified smartphone with 3GB RAM.
Samsung also began mass producing 128GB memory chips for smartphones and tablets earlier this year, and we could see storage capacities that high as early as next year. With this, the Samsung will continue its reign in producing devices with large storage capacity.
However, Samsung kept mum on the rumors surrounding the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S4. There is no official comment from the South Korea's tech giant.
