Vowing to stay fashionable despite nasty comments from designers, what kinds of clothes shall we expect from the stylish Duchess now on?
Recently, the Duchess of Cambridge stepped out in a MaxMara wrap around dress for her first public appearance as a pregnant lady. It has a graphic grey and white design with a length that drops below her knees.
Reportedly bought by the Duchess for half its price, it is safe to say that more wrap-around numbers will be expected from a soon-to-be-mum Catherine.
The Duchess likes her skinny jeans and stretchy pants as much as the next pregnant lady. Not long ago, Catherine was spotted shopping for "jeggings" at a Zara store, saying that the Duchess prefers comfort over style. She could be seen walking around in many jeggings paired with loose maternity blouses.
Capes and coats are wardrobe necessities for people residing in England, and a pregnant Duchess deserves the most fashionable and stylish warmth gear to wear around. Not necessarily expensive or designer-made, the Duchess could sport some affordable coats from Topshop, as she already owns several pieces of those.
In fact, when the world had a first glimpse of the royal baby bump, the Duchess was seen in a Zara grey tartan cape.
Nude and earth-toned flats are also to be expected on the Duchess' maternity wardrobe. Though needed to wear heels for red carpet events, Catherine will need to wear comfortable foot wear as her tummy gets heavier. The Duchess can also wear wedges that have medium-length heels so she won't lose her elegant side.
As for red carpet ensembles, a pregnant Kate would go for empire cuts with lace, embroidery, or embellished details. She can have her favorite designers, Issa London or Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen customize maternity gowns for her to wear.
