In "Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire," battles are not the only way to prove you're the best in the game. It will also usher in a new way to enjoy your Pokemons.

With the "Pokemon Contest Spectaculars," you can even try to make your Pokemon compete in terms of appeal. The game will let you take a break once you meet Lisia, a contestant idol who tries to get you in on the fun.

Contest Idol Lisia is considered to be the Hoenn region number-one contest star, and she is never without her Pokemon partner Altaria also known as Ali. The Altaria Pokemon is a Dragon/Flying Type Pokemon that hums a soprano tune once it connects "heart-to-heart" with another person.

According to the official "Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire" website, the "Pokemon Contest Spectacular will have five types of contests that you can join, which are basically qualities that you are competing in: there's Beauty, Coolness, Cleverness, Toughness and Cuteness.

Make sure that your Pokemon excels in one or more of these categories, and enter it in the appropriate one. Afterwards, you'll see that each contest will split into four ranks, namely the Normal, Super, Hyper and Master Ranks.

Now this is a ladder-type competition, beat Normal then continue to rise to the top until you reach the Master Rank.

How to Rise the Ranks: Pokeblocks

Going from Normal to Super Rank is not an easy feat, and to do that, The Pokemon Company recommends giving your Pokemons the special snack, Pokeblocks.

These are made using two to four Berries, with each type depending on the colour and variety of Berries that you can choose from. Each type of Pokeblock will bring a different improvement on a condition for your Pokemon, so the key is deciding on which of the five conditions you want your Pokemon to excel first.

Participating in the first contest will give you the Cosplay Pikachu, which is said to be one of the more popular ones in Pokemon Contest Spectaculars. And if you want to take advantage of Cosplay Pikachu's costumes, always remember that this is the only Pikachu that can change costumes.

All the others that you'll catch in the game won't be able to dress up. Cosplay Pikachu is distinguished by its heart-shaped mark on the tale.

More Cool Contest Features

The Pokemon Contest Spectacular isn't just for dressing up your Pikachu and pitting Pokemons pageant style.

You and your friends can also participate in it with the use of communication features. In fact, you can make it a contest among your friends onstage.

You can even take a photo with your Pokemon--all you need to do is talk to a man in the reception desk. He's identified as the man whose job is to prepare the Contest Hall. As seen in the image in the official page, he'll set it up so you can take pictures of your Pokemon together with you.
