NVIDIA Shield Gaming Tablet: Popular Gaming Titles, Features, Specs and Official Pricing

NVIDIA offers a new gaming tablet which includes popular titles such as Titanfall, War Thunder, Trine 2, Call of Duty and Half-life. NVIDIA Shield also supports HD videos, Android apps and 4G-LTE connectivity.

NVIDIA Shield Games

Since the new gaming tablet got its name from NVIDIA Shield console, expect similar gaming titles for Shield Tablet. According to the official Web site of NVIDIA, the Shield tablet supports games from Valve such as Half-life and Portal.

In addition, certain PC gaming titles are also found on the device such as Titanfall, War Thunder, Trine 2, Call of Duty: Ghosts and Batman: Arkham Origins. NVIDIA Shield tablet also offers the following entertainment functionality to users:

NVIDIA recommends video playback of FLV and MKV files using MX Player which can be downloaded from the Google Play Store. Moreover, Shield tablet supports GameStream with minimum upload and download bandwidth speed of 5 Mbps. APK and OBB files from apps are movable to the SD card provided it is supported by the selected application.

Technical Specifications

NVIDIA Shield tablet boasts an 8.0 inches of screen with 1920 x 1080 multi-touch HD display resolution and Android 4.4.4 KitKat OS. It is powered by NVIDIA Tegra K1 192 core Kepler GPU and 2.2 GHz ARM Cortex A15 processor with 2 GB of RAM chipset.

For connectivity and networks, NVIDIA Shield tablet supports Wi-Fi and 4G-LTE depending on which model, Bluetooth 4.0 Low Energy, GPS with GLONASS, mini-HDMI output, USB 2.0, microSD card and micro-SIM for the 4G variant.

NVIDIA Shield tablet is now available for pre-orders at $299 on the 16 GB Wi-Fi variant while the Wi-Fi 4G-LTE with 32 GB variant will cost $399 once it is available.
