Budget-friendly handsets from Nokia are a huge hit across the globe. The handset in focus, the Nokia XL has recently been released in May 2014, while the Samsung Galaxy Grand Neo was released in February. Readers who are interested in purchasing the Nokia XL or the Samsung Galaxy Grand Neo should check out this specification and price comparison.
Interestingly, there is a bunch of Nokia X series of handsets available in the market. The difference between the Nokia X+ and the Nokia X/XL handsets is that, the Nokia X has better specifications when compared to the Nokia X+, while the latest Nokia XL is bigger and better than the other two phones. These handsets pack terrific features, impressive under the hood performances and affordable price tags.
Display, Exterior and Size
The Samsung Galaxy Grand Neo features a 5.1-inch TFT display bundled with 480 x 800 pixels screen resolution. The Nokia XL, on the other hand, comes with a 5.0-inch IPS LCD display along with the same resolution as the Samsung handset. Also, the pixel density of the Galaxy Grand Neo and the Nokia XL stand almost same at 186 ppi and 187 ppi respectively.
The Nokia XL resembles the original Nokia X with the same plastic exterior. However, the handset is quite hefty. With a weight of 190 g, the Nokia XL is heavier than many other budget-friendly phones available in the market. Nevertheless, the silver lining is that the construction quality is top-notch. Furthermore, the finish of the handset can be compared to high-end phones and there are no rough edges, providing the look of a pricey phone.
Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy Grand Neo features curved edges and the exterior is made of plastic with matte finish. The matte effect on the rear provides good grip, hence there is less of fingerprints and scratches, says Phone Arena.
The thickness and the weight of Galaxy Grand Neo are 0.38-inch and 163 g respectively, whereas the Nokia XL is 0.43 inches thick and weighs 190 g. Hence, the Galaxy Grand Neo is thinner and lighter when compared to Nokia XL.

The Samsung Galaxy Grand Neo, on the other hand, is powered by a quad-core (Broadcom BCM23550) Cortex-A7 processor, clocked at 1.2 GHz. The Samsung handset comes with 1 GB of RAM, while the Nokia XL comes with a relatively inferior 768 MB of RAM. Camera and Battery
Both the phones sport 5 MP rear-facing camera units with LED flash. While the Nokia XL features a 2 MP front-facing camera, the Galaxy Grand Neo comes with a VGA shooter in the front.
The Galaxy Grand Neo houses a Li-Ion 2100 mAh user-replaceable battery unit, whereas the Nokia XL houses a relatively lesser 2000 mAh user-replaceable battery unit.
