Nokia Lumia 920, iPhone 5 or Samsung Galaxy S3: Australian Consumers' Guide for Christmas [PHOTOS]

With the holiday season fast approaching, a lot of people will surely include one these famous smart phones on their wish list: Nokia Lumia 920, Apple's iPhone 5 or Samsung Galaxy S3. Which one is your Christmas choice?

Nokia Lumia 920 has a 4.5" display with 332ppi and a 1280x768 resolution. Weighing at 185 grams, the smart phone's rear camera is at 8.7MP while its front camera is at 1.3MP. It has autofocus, a dual LED flash and has PureView and Carl Zeiss optics.

Nokia Lumia 920 also has the Windows Phone 8 OS, 32GB storage capacity, wireless charging feature, NFC support and can use common micro USB cable for charging. Additionally, its large screen responds to gloves as well as fingernails.  A 32GB Nokia Lumia 920 costs $99.99 on a two-year contract and is only available at the moment from Telstra.

Apple's iPhone 5 has a rear camera with 8MP while the front camera is at 1.2MP. The smart phone weighs 112 grams with an iOS 6, LED flash, autofocus, FaceTime, geo-tagging, face detection and panoramic choices. In terms of storage capacity, the iPhone 5 offers 16GB, 32GB and 64GB. The 32GB iPhone 5 costs $299.

Australia offers the best iPhone 5 deals. Virgin Mobile has the smart phone available for $47 per month for two years which is a total of $1,128 on its Big Plan 29. It is already low-priced compared to any deal in the United Kingdom or the United States with no upfront fees. Australian supply issues of the iPhone 5 have been fixed making the Apple flagship easy to purchase.

The exceedingly well-liked Samsung Galaxy S3 competes with its smart phone rivals when it comes to hardware but offers additional features such as 8MP camera, 1GB RAM, expandable storage capacity, MHL and flexibility of Android customization.

The 133-gram Samsung Galaxy S3 is also noted for its difference in tech and screen size. Optus offers the Samsung smart phone for a price approximately $51 a month. At Telstra, the Samsung Galaxy S3 costs $60 on its Every Day Connect plan.
