Nokia Lumia 520 vs. HTC First: The Smart Phone Battle on Price, Features and Specs [PHOTOS]


Nokia Lumia 520 and HTC First are the two low priced smart phones capable of providing the users with quality performance and experience. It is basically up to the consumers which device to choose as Nokia and HTC go head to head on a smart phone battle on price, features and specifications.

The Nokia Lumia 520 is currently available without a contract from the online retailer Expansys at the price of $224.99. This Nokia Lumia smart phone model will reportedly work at the AT&T or T-Mobile network.

At the UK retailer contracts, Nokia Lumia 520 costs £99 (US$151) on prepay or £7 (US$11) per month. The unlocked Nokia Lumia 520 version goes on an Australian sale this month with a price of $229 at Allphones, Dick Smith, Harvey Norman and JB Hi-Fi retail stores. The smart phone has a lower price of $179 at Telstra beginning April 30.

HTC First is the smart phone that features the new Android interface called "Facebook Home" and it is worth $100 in the US. The UK pricing has not yet been confirmed but HTC First is predicted to have a price about £100 (US$152).

The Nokia Lumia 520 has a light, compact, and easy to handle design that runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 dual-core chip clocked at 1GHz with 512MB of RAM and the Adreno 305 Graphics Processing Unit (GPU).

A 1430mAh replaceable battery powers the Nokia Lumia 520. The available internal storage capacity is 8GB with a microSD card slot that can expand memory storage up to 64GB.

The 5MP camera is very competitive with the f/2.4 aperture that provides images with superior clarity, colors and dynamic range. Nokia Lumia 520 also has the ability to capture videos smoothly at the 720p resolution.

HTC First has a different visual design compared to the Nokia Lumia 520 pointy front and curvy back. The HTC smart phone's lively appearance fully embraces the rounded shapes with softened edges and corners.

It features a 4.3-inch Super LCD screen display with 1280x720p resolution providing sharp and colorful images, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 dual-core chip clocked at 1.4GHz with 1GB of RAM and the Adreno 305 GPU.

The HTC First's 5MP camera has an LED flash and f/2.0 aperture capable of capturing 1080p HD video. Other remarkable features include the 1.6MP front-facing camera for video calls, 16GB internal storage capacity, 2000mAh battery, 4G connectivity and NFC chip.
