While Miley Cyrus has never gone to rehab or been arrested for DUI, the former “Hannah Montana” star has been famous for controversial reasons of which include smoking pot on stage, twerking and her scandalous “Bangerz” tour.

Dominican Republic government has chosen to protect its country's morality by banning an upcoming Miley Cyrus concert. The Dominican Republic commission said in a statement on Thursday that they will cancel the September 13 concert of the "Wrecking Ball" songstress on morality grounds. Tickets to the Miley's Dominican Republic concert were on sale since July 2013.

According to the commission, the singer performs in such a way that it "goes against the customs and morals of the country." The commission accused Miley of performing "with unsuitable costumes," and using "language and images which encourage sex and violence."

Additionally, Cyrus has been blamed of "apology for crime, violence and denigrating acts before civilized culture, incitement for sex, lesbian sex, and use of inappropriate objects in public."

Miley's latest concerts have been known to be controversial as they include twerking and other vulgar dance moves. The 21-year-old singer's "Bangerz" tour kicked off on February 14 and ever since she has been in public eye because of her antics. Miley famously simulated oral sex on a Bill Clinton lookalike during one of her concerts and even made her entrance on a huge floating hot dog. The singer has often dressed scantily for her shows and even wore dresses which had marijuana leaves.

The "We Can't Stop" songstress' concert has a Parental Advisory note as Miley is also seen grabbing her crotch and touching her other body parts on stage. The now banned concert in Dominican Republic was a part of her "Bangerz" world tour was scheduled to happen at Quisqueya Stadium, in the country's capital of Santo Domingo.

Miley's performance ban has been welcomed by her critics on social media with many anti-Miley Cyrus users joking that they should now move to Dominican Republic.

"I learned today that Miley Cyrus is banned from performing in the Dominican Republic. In other news I'm moving to the Dominican Republic," writes @byronNME on Twitter.

"They've banned Miley Cyrus in the Dominican Republic. Regina, we're moving. #StepDadQuotes," writes @TheSamReinhard on Twitter.

Cyrus is due to perform in New Zealand on her "Bangerz" world tour at Vector Arena on October 8.
