A picture of Lamar Odom showing his butt crack recently surfaced online and made headlines in different news and entertainment outlets. Does the media go too far in pursuit of stories?
According to the Daily Mail, Lamar was getting ready to take a hike at Fryman Canyon in Studio City, California. He was applying some sunscreen when his shorts fell down resulting into a significant strip of his butt being exposed. TMZ also shared a similar picture of Lamar's butt crack.
The story has received quite a mixed responses from readers. Some people wisely pointed that the Lamar's butt crack story was a boring crap and felt devastated that several news outlets less important news.
"TMZ, butt crack stories have to stop," one commented.
Some people thought that what TMZ did was below the line of acceptable behaviour. It was a slur that was a little extreme.
"Although it's happy to see it was a joke, it's not cool to play around with something like that," another one wrote.
While some thought that the story was offensive, others believed it was simply good humour under the tension of big things that had gone Lamar's way, whose National Basketball Association (NBA) dream was squashed recently after being officially cut by the New York Knicks.
Lamar reportedly was dropped in the Knicks' roster after not being able to "uphold the standards to make a comeback as an NBA player." A source told US Weekly that Lamar wasn't really pouring all his heart out to the NBA. Lamar allegedly knew that Phil Jackson and the rest of the Knicks' management gave him a "real shot" but he failed to take advantage of it. According to the source, Lamar was not doing okay and dilemmas which involved Khloe and his family had contributed to it. Another insider close Lamar said that the baller has fallen back into old habits.
