Using computer facial reconstruction, experts have unmasked the possible face of James Foley's British executioner.
Mirror UK reports that for the first time, US experts have revealed a man around 20 or 30 years old to be the possible British jihad. They were able to come out with two images, one of a man with Arabic features and a downward sloping mouth. The second shows him with a moustache, which reportedly will help people identify him if he had facial hair.
These images were obtained and reported by ABC News from American facial recognition experts, who consulted with the U.S. government in attempting to recreate a likeness of "Jihadi John" using his eyes as seen on the James Foley execution video. The specialists reportedly also used the area around the British killer's eyes, the part not covered by the black cloth he used as a mask (check out the photos from the video below).
The images of the face reported by ABC News were in black and white colour. The first according to Mirror UK shows him looking to the left with a cold, remote look in his eyes. While the second features the same expression only this time he was staring straight at the camera.
However, the images did not in any way resemble the former rapper Abdel Majed Abdel Bar. Sources also told ABC News that the 23-year old England-raised militant is not believed to be the man behind the mask in the James Foley beheading video. Abdel Majed Abdel Bar, the Egyptian man from London, reportedly joined jihadists in Syria and is suspected to be the British executioner in the gruesome video.
Meanwhile, British authorities have set their focus on the neighbourhood in East London in hopes of learning more information about Abdel Majed Abdel Bar as the search for James Foley's killer continues.
According to a previous report from International Business Times, James Foley's execution would not have happened if the U.S. had paid ISIS the ransom money they had asked in exchange for his freedom. As with other countries in Spain and France, their citizens were released from captivity after the government paid the requested amount.
ISIS had reportedly demanded the U.S. government for a multimillion-dollar ransom for James Foley's release. However, previous hostages and representatives of his family confirmed the country refused to pay.
ISIS has once again demanded ransom money for the release of three more American hostages. As seen on the beheading video, the British executioner claimed it's up to Obama if the captive would be set free or killed.
"The life of this American citizen, Obama, depends on your next decision," the ISIS executioner said.
