Damion St Patrick Baston from Jamaica will face the court in Miami, Florida to face charges of forcing women into prostitution in Australia.
Baston, according to the AAP, was arrested in New York in January, following a joint operation by Australian and U.S. authorities. He is charged with sex trafficking by force, fraud and coercion.
"Baston is a violent pimp who has trafficked women across several continents, including in the southern district of Florida, Australia, and Dubai," the AAP quoted prosecutor Roy Altman who told the court in early 2014.
A Lithuanian woman, aged 21 and known to the court as GP, told NSW police Baston relentlessly beat her and forced her to remain in a scalding shower for several hours. He also hung her by her feet over a fire escape.
"According to the sexual battery detective who interviewed GP that night, GP was the most terrified victim she had ever encountered in her 25 years at the police department," prosecutors said.
Three of Baston's alleged victims will testify against him at the trial.

Prosecutors will present the jury two photographs of Baston wearing a fur and holding cash and another holding a condom and cash, according to a copy of an exhibit list filed in court obtained by AAP.
Other photos to be forwarded include a Surfers Paradise penthouse and an apartment in Bathurst St, Sydney. Bank records and transactions with ANZ, Commonwealth and Westpac will likewise be submitted as part of evidence.
"Much of the evidence detailed in US court documents come from Baston's alleged pimping of two women from apartments on Queensland's Gold Coast," the AAP said.
Baston allegedly took one Australian woman to Dubai and Miami to work as prostitutes after making over $A216,391 on the Gold Coast.
