How to Get Away with Murder: The Show that is Taking Scandal’s Time Slot

ABC's new legal drama series "How to Get Away with Murder" is Shonda Rhimes' new show for the broadcast channel. This new show will be taking the time slot of "Scandal" on Thursdays.  "Scandal" is scheduled to air an hour before its original time on Thursdays.

"How to Get Away with Murder" stars Viola Davis.  In addition to Davis, Billy Brown, Alfred Enoch, Jack Falahee, Katie Findlay, Aja Naomi King, Matt McGorry, Karla Souza, Charlie Weber and Liza Weil have also been cast to play key roles in the new show.

Davis will be seen playing the role of Professor Annalise Keating, a law professor and a well-known criminal defence attorney. The character has been described as someone who is "brilliant, charismatic and seductive." According to The Hollywood Reporter (THR), Keating is ruthless in the courtroom and the classroom.  She is also an "excellent manipulator" and calls her Criminal Law 100 class "How to Get Away With Murder."

THR reveals that Keating will pick five of her law students to work with her at the firm. She is married to a psychology professor, played by Tom Verica, and at same time, she has an affair that no one knows about.

The professor and her ambitious law students will get entangled in a murder plot, which has the potential to change their course of lives, according to THR.

ABC's Official Description of "How to Get Away with Murder":

"The brilliant, charismatic and seductive Professor Annalise Keating gets entangled with four law students from her class "How to Get Away with Murder." Little do they know that they will have to apply what they learned to real life, in this masterful, sexy, suspense-driven legal thriller."

The pilot episode is written by Peter Nowalk and it is directed by Michael Offer.   

With the debut of "How to Get Away with Murder" this fall, Rhimes will have three of her shows on ABC. She is also the creator of "Scandal" and "Grey's Anatomy."     

ABC has yet to announce the premiere date for the new show.
