Another name has been thrown into the mix of potential stars set to play Anastasia Steele in the film adaptation of "Fifty Shades of Grey." Fans of the HBO original series, "Girls" may greatly know who Allison Williams is. Apparently, Williams is now up for the role of Ana in "Fifty Shades of Grey."
Ever since Focus Features and Universal Studios announced that the "Fifty Shades" film would be released on summer of 2014, fans of the BDSM-themed novels have been nothing but desperate for news of an official cast. Yet, E.L. James had already confirmed on her Twitter account that casting for the film would take a while. Given a director has not been found to direct the film, a cast set to play Christian Grey, Anastasia Steele and the others can wait.
Of course, leave it to fans of the racy novel to come up with countless lists of potential Hollywood stars plausible to play the role of Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele. As of late, the favourites for the role of Christian Grey include Ian Somerhalder of "The Vampire Diaries", Matt Bomer of "White Collar" and Henry Cavill of "Man of Steel."
For the role of Anastasia Steele, the favourites constantly change. Last month, Alexis Bledel was a strong contender but had easily been overrun by Emilia Clarke of "Game of Thrones." Other favourites include Felicity Jones, Emma Watson, Lucy Hale and Nina Dobrev.
Another favourite not all "Fifty Shades" fans are well aware of is "Girls" star, Allison Williams. From all the sultry scenes the brunette beauty had managed to make on the HBO original series, "Fifty" fans considered Allison a potential Ana. The big question is, has Allison even read the books?
"I am reading ['Fifty Shades of Grey']," admitted Allison in an interview with Access Hollywood, adding, "I'm very intrigued by the book, very entertained by it. And I actually love riding the subway and seeing people reading their Kindles sort of surreptitiously [reading] and I'm always wondering whether or not they're reading 'Fifty Shades of Grey' in secret."
Does this mean that the "Girls" star could be up for the role if considered for it?
"I'd have to read the script, but given that it's very explicit in nature, I would say that I'd leave that up to a daredevil ... we'll see," stated Allison.
