The "Fifty Shades of Grey" film prep pipeline is once again alive with another celebrity on the potential list of actresses for Anastasia Steele. While Alexis Bledel and Emilia Clarke have been topping the list of random web polls, these ladies could have competition with a certain blonde. Rumor has it that Julia Roberts' niece, Emma Roberts is interested in the role of Anastasia Steele.
E.L. James best-selling erotica novel, "Fifty Shades of Grey, continues to gather quite the impressive fan base. The books still remain on the top selling books of today and "Fifty Shades" fans grow by the minute. It's not surprising that the BDSM-themed story between Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele has captured a lot of hearts.
Now, with Universal Studios working on the film adaptation, fans of "Fifty" are hyped on who among Hollywood's hottest would be playing the main leads. For Christian Grey, Matt Bomer of "White Collar" has been winning the race while Henry Cavill of "Man of Steel" follows closely by. Ian Somerhalder of "The Vampire Diaries" continues to be a fan favorite. Two additional names to the list are from the famous "Gossip Girl" series, Ed Westwick and Chace Crawford.
On the other hand, actresses battling it out for the role of Anastasia Steele include Alexis Bledel of "Gilmore Girls" and Emilia Clarke of "Game of Thrones." Kristen Stewart of the "Twilight" series has also been dominating the buzz in the business. Despite claims that Stewart won't be part of the film, sources insist that Stewart could just be chosen for the role. A new name on the list who has expressed interest in the film is "Scream 4's" Emma Roberts.
"Everyone says read 'Fifty Shades of Grey.' I don't really understand. But everyone on the plane was reading it, and I was like, 'I should probably just get it. I haven't read it, I don't even understand, but yeah, it sounds awesome. Anything racy, hot. Sure, let's get hot," said Roberts.
Even with the blonde locks, Roberts does fit the description of 22-year old Anastasia Steele. One other blonde nominated for the role of Anna is "Rum Diary" star, Amber Heard.
In the end, casting would fall on the hands of Universal Studios and Author E.L. James. Yet, with the director's chair still empty, casting would be far from reality.
