A relationship can turn sour for many reasons. And it is really difficult to point out one specific reason. As such stress and everyday life have become synonymous for most. In the workplace, people need to apply individual stress management skills to cope. Sometimes, existing relationships come under strain and trouble starts between partnes.
It’s already 2014, still if something goes wrong in a relationship between couples, unfortunately, it is believed that it's because of a girl child, a study reported.
“Women who reported higher levels of marital conflict were more likely in subsequent years to give birth to girls, than boys. Many have suggested that girls have a negative effect on the stability of their parents' union. We are saying: 'Not so fast'," said Duke University economist Amar Hamoudi and co-author Jenna Nobles, a University of Wisconsin-Madison sociologist.
The researchers feel that girls are usually tougher than boys, same holds true even in the womb. As a result probably they survive better than boys in pregnancies which are stressed by a troubled marriage.
Women are born to be stronger as they need to deal with hundreds of obstacles throughout their lives. Perhaps it's nature that makes women better equipped when compared to men.
Hamoudi gives an extremely different opinion about different divorce rates; the robustness of female embryos.
"More robust female embryos may be better able to withstand stresses to pregnancy, including stresses caused by relationship conflict," the study put an argument.
"Girls may well be surviving stressful pregnancies that boys cannot survive. Thus, girls are more likely than boys to be born into marriages that were already strained," It is time for population studies to shine a light on the period of pregnancy. The clock does not start at birth”, Hamoudi said in the work that got published in the journal Demography.
