Castle Season 7 Spoilers: Rick Castle to Investigate New Mysteries Revolving Around Him

By on

There is much speculation about what happened to Rick Castle in the final moments of "Castle" Season 6 finale. In the episode, a black SUV was seen following Castle's car and at the end of the episode, Beckett saw Castle's car in a ditch and in flames.  Castle and Beckett were all set to get married and Beckett was waiting for her man to arrive. The groom did not make it to the wedding and Beckett received a call about the car accident.

It is confirmed that Castle is alive and his body will not be pulled out of the burning car. TV Guide reports that there is a possibility that Castle might not be "seriously injured," also. The report also rules out the possibility of Castle suffering from amnesia.

According to TV Guide, Andrew Marlowe, the former show-runner and creator of "Castle," does not call Castle's experience in the final moments of Season 6 finale as "near-death experience." As previously reported, Marlowe has said that the new season will introduce a new mythology. This mythology revolves around Castle and is set to turn his life upside-down, and the fans can expect new secrets to tumble out from the cupboard of his past.

"There are going to be some unanswered questions and some really great mysteries that Castle himself is going to be investigating moving forward," David Amann, the new show-runner of the show, said to TV Guide.

Marlowe has added that the new season will explore questions related to Castle, including why he is interested in murder mysteries and why he writes about them. He said, ""Why does he do what does? Why is he interested in murder? What has gone on in his past? These are rich questions we haven't really explored."

Meanwhile, "Castle" Season 7 is likely to explore Esposito and Lanie's relationship.  "We do have a couple of things that we're working on, in that relationship," Marlowe said to TV Line.

"Castle" Season 7 is scheduled to premiere on September 29.
