Brad Pitt was violently attacked by a Ukrainian man during the red carpet of Angelina Jolie's "Maleficent" premiere. The man gave the actor an unexpected punch in the face while he walked the red carpet.

Hollywood hosted the premiere of Disney's new film, "Maleficent." Angelina Jolie was accompanied by her fiancé Brad Pitt to the event.

According to TMZ, the actor was at El Captain Theater when the incident took place when he was punched by a random man from the crowd.

Pitt was walking down the red carpet when the man came out from the crowd and "jumped the fence and ran up to the actor," the Web site noted. Also, the man reportedly "made contact" with the actor's face before the cops got into action. The man has been held by LAPD and he will be charged with misdemeanor battery.

According to Just Jared, Ukrainian man's attack met with an equal reaction. Pitt reportedly "retaliated" and punched the guy back before he was taken in custody by the police.

Daily Mail reported the man who attacked the actor on "Maleficent" premiere is a serial prankster, Vitalii Sediuk. After he made contact with actor's face, Vitalii was reportedly taken down by six to seven security officers.

"Sediuk was thrown to the ground and cuffed as he struggled, his trousers nearly pulled down in the fray," reported UK publication.

It is noted that "World War Z" actor appeared "shocked at the disturbance." Meanwhile, Jolie was busy greeting her fans in a different section away from her fiancé.

This was not the first time this man has caused menace at such events. Aside from Brad Pitt, Vitalii Sediuk has terrified many other Hollywood actors during red carpet events.

Prior to this, he tried to sneak underneath America Ferrera's dress at 2014 Cannes Films Festival. He also tried to kiss Will Smith on his lips at movie premiere of "Men in Black 3." He was also spotted grabbing Bradley Cooper and Leonardo DiCaprio's crotch in different occasions.
