'Batman vs. Superman' Henry Cavill: 'Man of Steel 2' Actor In Trouble With Deaf Community In Detroit?

While Henry Cavill was in Detroit for the "Batman vs. Superman" production, he dropped by a local watering hole to have a few drinks, which almost led to a disagreement with the locals.

An eyewitness said the "Man of Steel" star was involved in a misunderstanding over a piece of napkin. "#henrycavill learned a bit about deaf culture tonight," Adrean Mangiardi, a resident, posted in Twitter.

Cavill was reported at Imperial Bar in Ferndale with his trainer when a little "ruckus" occured. He was minding his own business with his trainer. A man asked for a napkin near Cavill that caused a big misunderstanding. He supposedly got the napkin for the man and said something but the man was deaf so he got upset.

"Henry said, "say your words to my deaf friend," Mangiardi explained.

"But my friend never heard it so that made Henry upset. He thought my friend had a mouth full of food." Other people and regulars overheard Henry and because they were drunk, they created a ruckus. People started spreading the rumour in the bar and made a big deal out of it. "I'm sure he looked annoyed to other people," Mangiardi added.

"At the end of the night as the bar closes, Henry came up to us (the Deaf Wolfpack) and shook hands with us, including my friend who asked for a napkin," Mangiardi said. "Henry apologized and made several basic gestures I am sure he learned his lesson by jumping to conclusions. I hope next time he bumps into us, he will respect and appreciate the deaf culture."

Mangiardi noted he was glad that Henry corrected his mistake. He said people make mistakes and learn from it. It was a misunderstanding that Cavill and the Deaf Wolfpack cleared the air from. Mangiardi later responded to curious fans that the 30-year-old heartthrob was a "nice fella" and that it was nice to see the actor learn a little signing.

"Batman vs. Superman" has announced a new release on March 6, 2016. The movie will star Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Diane Lane and Laurence Fishburne.
