By on

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) announced on April 7 its full list of nominees for the 2014 BAFTA TV Awards. "Southcliffe" and "The IT Crowd" are leading the list of nominees with four nominations each, while Channel 4 is having a field day for having most nominations to date.

Hosted by Graham Norton, the BAFTA TV Awards 2014 is scheduled to kick off on Sunday, May 18. With mixed reviews from critics, "Southcliffe's" nominations include Best Mini-Series, Leading Actor for Sean Harris and Supporting Actor for Rory Kinnear.

"Broadchurch's" lead star David Tennant unfortunately failed to secure himself a nomination but last year's double-winner Olivia Colman is up again for another Best Actress nod. "The IT Crowd's" four nods include its three stars Chris O'Dowd,, Katherine Parkinson and Richard Ayoade.

BBC Two drama series "The Fall" is up for two nominations, lead actor Jamie Dornan is up for Best Actor award for his outstanding portrayal of serial killer Paul Spector. "The Fall's" Allan Cubitt, Julian Stevens, Gub Neil and Jakob Verbruggen are nominated for Best Mini-Series.

Channel 4 receives a total of 27 nominations, while BBC One and BBC Two got 17 nods. The 2014 BAFTA TV Awards rewarded SKY with only three nominations; David Attenborough's is the network's high profile nominee in the Specialist Factual category.
