The Federation Cup semi-final between Australia and Germany will be held at Pat Rafter Stadium in Brisbane, next month.

According to Tennis Australia, the game is supposed to get staged over the Easter weekend of April 19 - 20. Australia reached the semi-final after defeating Russia in Hobart last month. They have last reached this stage in the year 1983.

Federation Cup captain, Alicia Molik stated "Australia's Federation Cup semi-final will be held at Brisbane". For Molik, it is a high time to convince Sam Stosur to increase chances of lifting the cup since 1974.

Stosur last month stated, "We're still in it, so we have a chance to win it,"

"It would be nice if it was in Europe, I guess for my own selfish reasons. I guess everybody else would also be heading to Europe.''

Casey Dellacuqa and Sam Stosur are the two major Australian players. Moreover, Ash Bart and Dellacqua are also known as a formidable doubles team.

Germany, on the other hand is trying to tap two key players, Angelique Kerber (No. 6) and Sabine Liscki (No.16).

On the other semi-final, Italy and Czech Republic will meet at CEZ Arena at in Czechoslovakia. The Czech moved to semi-final after defeating Spain on 3 - 2 while Italy defeated USA by 3 - 1.

Till now, Australia have met Germany for 12 times in Federation Cup, with Australia leading to 8 - 4. Australia won the Federation Cup for six times. So far in this tournament, Australia shows confidence all throughout, getting the lead into semi-final since 1983. Now the country waits to see the triumph of glory.

Australia is hopeful to lift this year's cup, and add a seventh crown under their belt. Germany, who is also a strong contender and winner of the Federation Cup twice, will also try to prove their best to lift the trophy for this year. They last time they won it was in 1992.
