At 16, success does not come easy to Justin Bieber whose two-year career has been razed with the handy works of critics and pranksters which include rumours of the artist's death and an offer for his mom to pose topless in the Playboy magazine. The latest allegation of Bieber's assault to a 12-year old boy in a laser tag centre in Canada may be linked to what critics perceive as effeminacy on his part when the Royal Canadian Mounted Police reports that the boy's calling Bieber with a gay slur actually caused the latter to flare up. The boy apparently sustained minimal injuries and his father filed a complaint to the police several hours after the alleged incident.

Taking Bieber's side, Erica Hill of the "Early Show" says that "Bieber was trying to be just a typical teen, playing laser tag at an arena in Vancouver." She also adds that this is the first time that Bieber has strayed from what seems to be a fairly clean record since the time of his discovery in 2008.

Dylan Howard of RadarOnline.com relates that Bieber went to enjoy the place with a group of around 12 people when the boy cornered him and relentlessly shot at Bieber. When told to stop, the boy taunted Bieber, more than once, with a gay slur which provoked Bieber to retaliate with a punch.

According to TMZ.com, Bieber related to his friends how hurtful such remarks could be. Bieber is not gay but he plans to voice out his side in public in support of the fight against issues of bullying and homophobia that were raised with the recent weeks' headlines on several gay teen suicides.

Bieber's two-year singing career has been glittered with platinum albums in the US charts and hits included in the top ten lists of several countries. His "Baby" video is considered as the most-viewed video in YouTube ever, surpassing Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance."
