Tim Gunn speaks about gay teen suicide in a new public service announcement for It Gets Better Project, following headlines on gay suicide incident precipitating from cyber bullying. In the video, Gunn confessed that he himself had attempted suicide in his teens, but fortunately the attempt was unsuccessful.

Tim Gunn, of "Project Runway" fame, revealed on Tuesday's episode of ABC's "The Revolution" that he hasn't had sex in 29 years. "I haven't had sex in 29 years," Gunn, 58, said on "The Revolution." "Do I feel like less of a person because of it? No. Not even remotely."

"As a 17-year-old youth who was in quite a bit of despair, I attempted to kill myself," Tim Gunn says in the video.
"I'm happy to say today that attempt was unsuccessful. But at the time it was all that I could contemplate."
Gunn attempted suicide by swallowing more than 100 pills while a teenager. The Project Runway star said he empathizes with gay teenagers who consider suicide as a way to end their desperation and isolation.
"I understand the desperation," he says.
"I understand the despair. And I understand how isolated you can feel."

According to Cyberbullying,org, Cyber bullying "involves the use of information and communication technologies to support deliberate, repeated, and hostile behavior by an individual or group, that is intended to harm others."
The latest victim is Tyler Clementi, a gay teen at Rutgers University, who jumped off a bridge followng broadcast of his sexual activities on the internet by allegedly two of his fellow student, one of which was his schoolmate (who discreetly post about Clementi's activities on Twitter).
Before he committed suicide, the teenager posted on his Facebook account that he can no longer stand the controversy, even apologizing for giving-up.
Gunn adds, "Reach out. Get help. You're not alone. It will get better-I promise."
Gunn persuades gay youth to reach out to The Trevor Project,a nationwide suicide prevention hotline, for help.
