The combined degree program Master of Business Administration/Master of Marketing offers students to study the more general business disciplines of the Master of Business Administration while also studying the specific Marketing courses of the Master of Marketing.

The Master of Business Administration program is designed to provide students with a range of analytic, strategic and leadership skills which will prepare them for the present day competitive environment in business management in the corporate and public sectors. The program (Master of Business Administration/Master of Marketing) offers relevant skills in core business areas of accounting, finance, organizational behavior, economics, marketing and management. Analytic and problem solving skills are developed through an applied understanding of the theoretical framework within which today's managers are required to function, as well as getting practical skills in teamwork, writing, presentation and time-management.
The ability to cope with organizational dynamics and technological change is developed through an understanding of organizational behavior, information systems and organizational change and development.
The Master of Marketing program is designed to prepare students with the skills to evaluate existing and potential market opportunities effectively and to develop strategies which can achieve organizational outcomes appropriate for the Australian and international business environments. Students will develop a sound understanding of the theoretical depth in marketing, besides the skills on how they are applied in practical contexts.
Program Requirements & Structure
The duration of the program (Master of Business Administration/Master of Marketing) is six trimester full-time or twelve trimesters part-time. The Newcastle Business School runs courses on a trimester system, i.e. three terms per year. Students may start their studies in January, May or September depending on location and availability.
Students need to complete 110 units (eleven courses) from the Core Courses, a minimum of 40 units (four courses) from Directed Courses, and a maximum of 10 units (one course) from Faculty Postgraduate courses (other than PACC courses) or any other postgraduate courses approved by the Head of School.

Career opportunities include managerial positions in commercial and public sector organizations, marketing manager, account executive, market research analyst.
Admission Requirements
Applicants must have a recognized Bachelor degree or Postgraduate Diploma or a recognized Graduate Certificate; or a recognized Diploma and 2 years work experience; or a GMAT score of 550; or successfully completed 20 units of postgraduate University studies with a GPA of 5 or more and two years work experience; or successfully completed 30 units of postgraduate University studies with a GPA of 4 or more and two years work experience.
International students will be supported by the University and Newcastle Business School's current support mechanisms. International applicants must satisfy the University's English Language Requirements. There will be a requirement for a minimum 6.5 IELTS result or equivalent.
