University of Newcastle's combined degree program of Master of International Business/MBA offers students to study the Master of Business Administration which is the general business discipline; also to study the Master of International Business, which is the specific international business course at the same time.
The Master of Business Administration program is designed to prepare students with a variety of strategic, analytical, and leadership competencies which will equip them for the ever demanding careers in business management, specifically in the corporate and public sectors. The combined program (Master of International Business/MBA) gives students skills in the core business areas like accounting, finance, organizational behavior, economics, marketing and management. Analytic and problem solving skills are cultivates through an applied understanding of the theoretical framework which is essential for working in today's complex work environment. Moreover, practical skills in teamwork, writing, presentation and time-management are given to function in everyday real time situations.
Change is the only constant in modern business dynamics. Hence, the ability to cope with rapid organizational and technological change is developed through an understanding of organizational behavior, information systems and organizational change and development.
The Master of International Business program is developed and designed to meet the needs of both Australian and International students. International students aiming to undertake business studies with a specific international focus in order to find employment in global markets, and Australian students who wish to expand their business capabilities and to export products to international markets; both can benefit from the well developed program. The combined program (Master of International Business/MBA) promises a good knowledge in the core business areas of marketing, finance, economics and human resource management as well as includes fundamental depth in the context of international trade, government policy and regulations with regards to global business operations.
Study a language
Now, there is a Diploma in Languages alongside the main degree program which students can undertake. This diploma will enhance their proficiency in another language or languages, and will enhance international career opportunities. Subject to course availability, this additional program will generally add an extra year to studies, and students will graduate with a Diploma in Languages as well as their other degree.
Applicants must have a recognized Bachelor degree or Postgraduate Diploma or a recognized Graduate Certificate; or a recognized Diploma and two years work experience; or a GMAT score of 550.
The Master of Business Administration is accredited by the Graduate Management Association of Australia (GMAA).
