The 92-year-old actress Betty White recently became the victim to a death hoax which got her fans riled up. A satirical article on Empire News led to rumours that the world has lost one of the legendary artists of her time.
"Actress Betty White, 92, Dyes Peacefully In Her Los Angeles Home," read the article headline.
The fans of the actress mistook the word "dyed" for "died" and twitter went ablaze with the condolence messages and reactions to the cleverly worded headline.

Betty White is NOT dead and you're an idiot if you don't know the difference between "dyed" and "died" so get off the internet.— Justin Root (@JustinWRoot) Sept 4, 2014
Interestingly the article, which was mistaken for a death hoax was about Betty White's hair dying job and how she is not a natural blonde.
Apparently, the fans who understood the wordplay did not read the article further. However, such news items not only disturb the fans but also the near and dear ones of the involved celebrity.
