Sept 19 iPhone 6 Release Date is Two Days After iOS 8 Global Rollout – Report

Apple's September 9 media event is widely believed to unveil the iPhone 6 with the actual release date surely to follow 10 days after - that is if the company will adhere to a pattern that apparently is in use since 2011.

This was pointed out in a new report by Business Insider. In attempting to make sense of Apple's secret plans for its 2014 flagship over the next two weeks, the publication tracked back the iPhone maker's release practice since the iPhone 4S first came out.
The dates vary but the tech giant normally picks a Tuesday of September to make its new iPhone known to the whole world. But the event, such as what will happen next week, is a but a preview and consumers will need to wait for a few more days before they can take home the next iPhone.
That same device will need an operating system to come into life and in this year's case, iOS 8 has been revealed back in June during the 2014 WWDC, which was followed by a string of beta versions for the main iPhone software.
It is believed that the final iOS 8 beta was already issued thus paving the way for the official build. Again pointing to Apple's release template, Business Insider offered September 17, a Wednesday and in line with previous occasions, as the day that the mobile OS will become available to existing iPhone users.
Then millions of Apple fans will likely shout out: "Thank God, it's Friday!" Friday of the same week key Apple Stores around the world will open their doors on the long queue of fanboys that unsurprisingly would have started their vigil few days prior.
This was the exact scenario that played out when the 4S started selling three years ago, and the iPhone 5 after that as well as the iPhone 5S. With all the signs that have been revealed so far, there is no reason to believe that Apple is plotting it differently this 2014 for the iPhone 6.
Indeed, why alter an approach that "has resulted in record-breaking opening sales weekends every year since 2011," Business Insider said on its report.
And true enough, the iPhone 6 is set to shatter existing records shortly after its debut, according to Gene Munster of Piper Jaffray. The incredible surge in early sales, Munster said, is mostly anchored on three features that are believed hard-coded with iOS 8: NFC-powered mobile payment, HomeKit and HealthKit.
The iWatch is also a big factor that will quickly send the upcoming iPhone flying off the shelves, Munster told Apple Insider.
Munster, however, skipped on one big thing about the iPhone 6 that will matter most to buyers - longer operating hours. This year, that is likely to become real, according to BGR, pointing to a leaked image of the supposed iPhone 6 battery that French blog site NowhereElse.fr first published.
The picture suggested that the next iPhone power-provider packs a rating capacity of 2915mAh or almost double of the 1560mAh battery kit that Apple had deployed last year with the iPhone 5S.
It must be clarified, however that the more powerful battery is likely for the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 that is expected to come out only on December 2014, at the earliest, or a few months after the September 19 release date of the regular 4.7-inch edition.
