Novak Djokovic of Serbia got off to a roaring start in his 2014 US Open campaign after defeating Diego Scharzman of Argentina in straight sets, 6-1, 6-2, 6-4 in the first day of the final Grand Slam tournament of the year.

Scharzman was simply overmatched as Djokovic hit 24 winners and seven aces in the one-sided match.
