Is Justin Timberlake really dead? Fans of the "Mirrors" singer freak out when another death hoax claiming "Justin Timberlake is dead" went viral. The rumour that spread like a wildfire, originated on a fake Facebook page.

Justin Timberlake Death Hoax

According to Media Mass, Justin Timberlake's death hoax went viral on Sunday, Aug 17, 2014. It happened after a Facebook page reportedly titled "R.I.P. Justin Timberlake" surfaced on the internet and garnered "nearly one million of likes."

The page that led to the spread of the fake news of Justin Timberlake's death also talked about the 33-year-old American actor and was backed by a credible account. The description also provided the time and date of "Friend's With Benefits" actor's death.

It read:

"At about 11 a.m. ET on Sunday (August 17, 2014), our beloved singer Justin Timberlake passed away. Justin Timberlake was born on January 31, 1981 in Memphis. He will be missed but not forgotten. Please show your sympathy and condolences by commenting on and liking this page."

The viral death hoax freaked out fans. While some believed the fake news and expressed their grief, others sounded angry and "skeptical." Scroll down to read the reactions of some of the fans on Twitter.

Justin Timberlake Death Hoax Debunked

Noticing the panic the viral death hoax has caused, Justin Timberlake's spokesperson cleared the air and addressed the issue of fast spreading celebrity viral death hoax.

"He joins the long list of celebrities who have been victimized by this hoax," Justin Timberlake's rep said as reported by Media Mass.

The rep told that actor/ singer is "still alive and well."

This is not the first time Justin Timberlake has been killed by the internet. In July, 2013, a death hoax claimed that the pop star died in a car accident.

Besides Justin Timberlake, some of the other celebrities who recently became the victim of viral death hoax are "Walking Dead" actors Norman Reedus and Andrew Lincoln, songstress Miley Cyrus and "Sons of Anarchy" star Charlie Hunnam.

Fans know that Justin Timberlake recently performed at V Festival touching the hearts of his followers. In other news, the singer made an Autistic child's birthday even more special when he stopped the concert to sing "Happy Birthday" to him along with 25000 fans.
