King Kong Back in Movie Titled Skull Island – Release Date in 2016

Legendary Pictures has confirmed that a new movie focusing on the popular monster King Kong is in the works . The movie will explore the mysterious island known as Skull Island, which is said to be the home of the beast. The movie is slated to be released on Nov 4, 2016.

The announcement was made during a Comic Con event. The upcoming movie will tell the origin story of King Kong. The producers did not disclose the actual title for the movie. The announcement came on the heels of the success of their latest monster movie "Godzilla."

The other monsters to feature in other upcoming movies include Rodan, Mothra and King Ghidorah. The three monsters are part of the "Godzilla" franchise and have been seen in some of the previous movies from the franchise.

The producers announced that the upcoming movie featuring King Kong will take the viewers deep inside the Skull Island. Movie buffs may have seen the Skull Island in previous movies. The producers intend to focus more on the island. In the previous movies a recurring theme has been to bring the monster to the city for exhibition.

The most recent movie about the monster was released in 2005. The movie titled "King Kong" was about an ambitious movie producer who travels with his cast and filming crew to Skull Island. They encounter the giant beast and bring him to New York. The beast expresses feelings for the beautiful leading lady in the movie.

The upcoming movie may be a continuation of the story from the 2005 movie. According to the IMDB page for the movie the plot revolves around the son of Carl Denham, who goes to explore the Skull Island. Carl was the movie producer in the 2005 movie.

The announcement of a new King Kong movie has thrilled fans. Fans of the franchise have been waiting for almost a decade for the next movie about the beast.
