People can expect more from Apple's iPhone 6 as new information suggests the tech giant pushing for mobile payments. More importantly, analysts see the NFC-enabled payments to secure the position of the iPhone 6 possibly cannibalizing the iPad in the process. An analyst also predicts that release of the iPhone 6 to be around September 26 although details are limited if both variants will make an appearance.

The larger version of the handset can offer a combined functionality and convenience of iPhone and iPads. It can eliminate the need for tablets. According to Slash Gear, Apple has been extending deals and coordinating with credit card companies to offer a secure payment platform that will ensure the value of its devices in the future. More importantly, the report also notes that Apple's upcoming payment platform may be one of the most secure yet.
People can choose from a multitude of mobile payment options. Nonetheless, Apple's plans with its iPhone 6 will integrate smartphones like no other. Eventually, people can turn their mobile devices into a credit card of sort. Apple is different from Android because it can control and manage hardware and software completely. Android is subject to a manufacturer's "interpretation" and existing services/products.
Apple has started its bid already with the TouchID payment feature for Apple Stores. Since Apple has been very particular about its platforms, the option may not be available to other retailers but through the company exclusively.
Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster shared his views recently about the possible release of the iPhone 6. Despite the reported production problems, people may soon see a launch around September 26. Munster believes that an Apple release in fall in possible but not earlier. According to Munster (via CNET):
"We believe the guide suggests a launch on the last Friday of September (9/26) vs. our prior thinking of a 9/19 launch..This means Apple will only benefit from 5 days of iPhone 6 sales vs. 12 in our prior expectation."
Munster also explained: "We reach 16 million iPhone 6 units by assuming that Apple launches both a 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch iPhone 6 leading to a 14 million unit 3-day launch weekend (up 55 percent year-over-year vs 9 million for the iPhone 5S/5C launch)."
"For the launch weekend, we note the average y/y launch weekend growth for the past 5 iPhone launches averaged 62 percent, and the last two body-style upgrades averaged 48 percent y/y growth. We assume Apple sells another 2 million units in the remaining 2 days in the September quarter for a total of 16 million iPhone 6 units."
Projected initial orders of the iPhone 6 are around 68 million but actual orders may be lower or bigger depending on the company's performance by the latter part of the year.
