OnePlus One has made headlines especially since the smartphone garnered positive reviews. It has been tagged as one of the best Android phones to be released this year. To make things more interesting, the company announced the smartphone will be getting the Android L update. Those who also wish to update their devices to Android 4.4.4 can now find a stock ROM for OnePlus One. Similar to other updates, the official firmware will be available following Google's rollout and after OnePlus finished testing it.

As mentioned, OnePlus has confirmed that it will be releasing the Android L update following Google's release this fall. The OnePlus One device may receive the Android L update earlier compared to other leading Android handsets according to BGR. The confirmation came through the company's reply on its support forum. OnePlus replied to a series of inquiries about the Android L and its handset. More importantly, the representative of the company said that the latest CyanogenMod build will come out in a few months given that Google releases the Android L code. According to the company statement:
"So a lot - I mean, a lot - of people are asking about whether we'll be getting on the Android L train. It was announced while I was asleep and when I got back to work the morning after, there were already a bunch of forum posts and (strangely) customer support requests about it."
"Well, we're keen to announce today that the OnePlus One will indeed be getting the L treatment. When, you ask? That depends on Google. We promise to have it done within three months of their releasing a final build."
Despite the high praises and positive reviews for OnePlus One, the smartphone remains limited. However, for those who have the handset, it should be good news to know that that Android 4.4.4 KitKat stock ROM for the device is now available. As noted by Phones Review, one of the selling points of the OnePlus One smartphone is its added CyanogenMod custom build feature. This allows people to tailor the device according to their preferences and needs. Users can head over to OnePlus One support for more details about the update.
