Police in Vancouver, Canada raided a medical marijuana store on Thursday for allegedly selling illegal recreational marijuana to the neighbourhood youth. The store was Jim's Weed Lounge.

However, Randy Fincham, a spokesman for the Vancouver Police Department, said no arrests were made at the time. When police showed up at Jim's Weeds Lounge at 882 East Hastings Street, they chanced upon three staff members and five customers.
"There are allegations that people were going into that store, buying marijuana, and then going out of the store and selling it to young people-kids and youth-in that neighbrouhood," VAncouvee Free Press quoted Sergeant Randy Fincham. "That's definitely something that brought it to our attention."
A board member of the Lounge named Jim Harrison told The Georgia Straight that all pot on site as well as money, computers and cell phones were confiscated by the police.
"They said they had a warrant," he told the newspaper. "They came in here and just took all the money, all the pot - the medicine - and they left."
The raid was confirmed no less than by the Lounge in a Facebook status update.
"We at Nations Best Weeds Society: Jim's Weed Lounge, sadly regret to inform you that we have, indeed, been raided by the VPD. Though using the word 'raided' seems somehow inappropriate, as this whole experience has left us feeling violated ... Calling it a 'robbery' would be far more apropos."
"Please continue to check our page for updates regarding when we will be open for business, and rest assured that we are working swiftly."
Recreational marijuana selling in Canada is illegal. But buying the drug with a federal medical certificate is allowed. Apart from Jim's Weeds, there are over 40 similar dispensaries operating in Vancouver, according to CBC News.
In June, police also raided Weeds Glass and Gifts. Charges have been recommended because the business appeared to be operating in an "unsafe manner."
