Prince George's First Birthday Party Details

Kate Middleton and Prince William are definitely going to surprise their little one with a birthday party. But Prince George's birthday celebrations are anything but grand and opulent birthday bash.

According to Us Weekly, Kate Middleton and Prince William have decided to celebrate Prince George's first birthday in "low-key manner." This is contrary to "mass hysteria" that spread around the England last year, when Prince George was born.

The Birthday Party: The Web site notes that the spokesman for the palace revealed that the royal family is "marking it privately." This includes "close family and friends." The venue of their party remains at Kensington Palace.

Furthermore, the source disclosed that "it will most likely be an indoor tea party that 'may extend to the garden if the weather remains glorious."

Prince George and Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will welcome George's great grandmother Queen Elizabeth II to grace the occasion. They will also be joined by George's Uncle, Prince Harry and Middleton family. However, Prince George's grandfather and grandmother will remain absent from the event. Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla are reportedly attending to commitments in Scotland.

Birthday Presents: The Web site further notes that Prince George will receive gifts like clothes and wooden toys from Kate Middleton and Prince William on his special day. The royal couple is reportedly making special efforts to keep Prince George from "getting spoiled." The source revealed that Duchess and Duke don't want to "go overboard" with Prince George's birthday presents.

Telegraph UK notes that the royal parents have "insisted they do not want Prince George to be showered with gifts on his first birthday." The report notes that since his birth, the Prince has received as many as 4,000 gifts from all around the world.

Celebration: As for the official celebration, Us Weekly notes that Buckingham Palace will host an exhibition called Royal Childhood. Visitors can take a look inside the life of royal children as on display will be a "collection of toys and outfits used by royal kids over the past 250 years."
