Two matches were decided on penalties while three were decided on extra time. Two of the three matches that were settled in regulation time were sealed within the closing ten minutes of the game. Only the game between Colombia and Uruguay was decided early in the match with Colombian star James Rodriguez scoring the team's two goals in the 28th and 50th minute respectively.
