At this point, It's an even toss-up between the Americas and Europe with four representatives each. Both the African teams who made it out of the group stage were taken out by their European opponents in the knockout stage.

The round of 16 was full of drama and the trend of 11th hour winners or equalisers prevailed throughout all four days of the competition. Two matches were decided on penalties while three were decided on extra time. Two of the three matches that were settled in regulation time were sealed within the closing ten minutes of the game.
