Starwarsalways reported that John Boyega's character in "Star Wars: Episode VII" is an Imperial Soldier, with a  source telling makingstarwars that he has been given the code name from the casting call as "Thomas."

Daisy Ridley on the other hand has also been given the code name "Rachel."

John Boyega starts the film on the side of the villains, according to the report from makingstarwars. This information matches with previous rumours that he starts off as an evil trooper or pilot.

Thomas is seen injured from a crash when his ship is shot down over Tatooine. This is another match to the rumours surrounding the Abu Dhabi set of the movie, where witnesses saw a crashed ship rumoured to be Thomas' fighter ship.

Seeing the crash, Daisy Ridley's character Rachel, rescues Thomas from the wreckage and away from the sandy elements of the planet (referring to the Abu Dhabi set). Over the course of their "unlikely pairing," Thomas sways from the side of the villains when he sees the reality of the universe. So as payback for saving his life, he decides to help Rachel.

According to the report, John Boyega and Daisy Ridley's characters developed a liking for each other, as evident in the innocent flirtation displayed in the first scene they're seen together. This flirtation, according to makingstarwars, is hinting at possible romance in the future "Star Wars" episodes.

The report added that John Boyega might start his journey as a Jedi midway through "Star Wars: Episode VII," which is why he has a light saber as other reports have claimed he was carrying during filming at the Pinewood Studios. John Boyega was not seen with a light saber during the Abu Dhabi shoot, so he and Ridley's character could have met a certain Jedi in the second act of the film.

John Boyega and Daisy Ridley's characters were reportedly also involved in the open auditions back in 2013, as evident in the casting call script below provided by makingstarwars. The script posts a resemblance to the abovementioned crashed ship report in the Abu Dhabi set of "Star Wars: Episode VII."

"Rachel labors to bear Thomas's weight as they inch their way down a deserted road, blood dripping from his leg. He's trying to stomach an apple. THOMAS (kidding): Can't you go any faster?

RACHEL: Shut up and eat your apple. He enjoyed that, but every step is sheer agony on the leg.

RACHEL: There's a barn a little farther up the road...A big barn, dark and damp. Rachel covers the floor with hay, then lays out her sleeping bag. Thomas looks through her backpack for anything he can use as a bandage.

RACHEL: You need rest. She lowers him down - which puts her face mere inches from his open would. She cringes without meaning to.

THOMAS: Sorry. I know it's -

RACHEL: It's fine. I'm just not a big fan of blood.

THOMAS: You know, for such a tough girl, you're kind of squeamish.

RACHEL: Your fever's still up. And we have to get some more food in you.

THOMAS: I'm not hungry.

RACHEL: It wasn't a request. She sits down next to him and takes out a loaf of bread.

THOMAS: Rachel thanks for coming to get me.

RACHEL: Family has to stick together, right? She starts to rise. He grabs her hand, dead serious.

THOMAS: Listen, if I don't make it -

RACHEL: Sssshh.

THOMAS: But if I don't...Before he can finish, she drops down next to him and looks him dead in the eye.

RACHEL: You're not going to die. I forbid it. Okay?

THOMAS: Okay.

RACHEL: Get some sleep.

THOMAS: What about you?

RACHEL: I will. In a bit."
