Google will soon be holding its I/O Conference opening possibilities for a new Android update announcement and upcoming hardware cycles. Previously, tech companies only took the time to discuss about their software and developer concerns during their annual conferences although it has changed with firms like Google taking advantage of the event to launch new products as well. This year should not be any different as reports suggest Google plans on unveiling its Android 4.5/5.0 Lollipop update, Nexus 8 and Google Glass products among others during the conference.

According to reports, Google may release the next big Android update during its I/O Conference. The update will either go as Android 4.5 or Android 5.0 Lollipop. Google also posted a screenshot suggesting that the company is ready for the release of its next big mobile OS update. The conference will be held from June 25 to June 26.
The release of the Android Lollipop update is further supported by a report from Android police. According to concept entitled "Quantum Paper," Google has been working on redesigning an operating system platform referred as "Android L." While the project appears ambitious, it does offer Google plenty of opportunities to push its mobile OS to better heights. The main goal of Quantum Paper is to organize and unify interaction, motion and visual standards throughout different platforms including Android, iOS and the internet.
Google has a habit of hinting upcoming products through screenshots subtly showing devices without mentioning anything. For instance, prior to the release of the Android 4.3, people noticed the company released an image with a 4:30pm indicator. The Android 4.4 KitKat showed a photo with 4:4om and this time the photo release shows a Nexus 5 with 5:00pm mark on it.

There have also been reports saying that Google will be switching to Android Runtime or ART with its next big update. XDA developers said that using ART for the next Android OS will make it more efficient and faster. Previously, there were also reports saying that Google will replace the Nexus line with its Android Silver program. While it may release the last few iterations of the Nexus, the Silver program will be happening soon offering a more unified Android approach. Google Watch is also expected to be released at the conference offering a consumer edition.
