Weeks after the preview of the Minecraft 1.8 update was published, another Minecraft snapshot 14w25a was revealed to make up for the lack of new Minecraft content over the last couple of weeks.

A short break after one of the busiest schedules of major modern gaming companies, the creators of one of the biggest sandbox games have returned with the latest preview of the Minecraft 1.8 update. On Wednesday, snapshot 14w25a was released alongside the Minecraft 1.7.10 pre-release download, which includes a number of fresh surprises for players who are hoping to see more underwater content in the game's next big patch.

Fans are anticipating more survival-oriented content in the Minecraft 1.8 update and they will be happy to hear that all sorts of surprises can now be found in a number of bodies of water, which includes underwater dungeon that should randomly appear in both existing and new Minecraft worlds. Minecraft snapshot 14w25a also comes with a number of blocks, which includes Sea Lanterns, functional Sponges and Prismarine.

The latest Minecraft 1.8 update also comes with new underwater mob and Minecraft's newest swimming enemy appears to like the stuff of nightmares. Thus far, it appears that the new underwater mob does not have a name yet, but it looks like an unholy mix of a fish and a Beholder. Also, at this point we do not know much about the one-eyed creature but the only screenshot included in the Minecraft 14w25a patch notes suggest that it is best to keep distance.

Similar to previous Minecraft patches, Minecraft snapshot 14w25a also comes its fair share of bug fixes. It also comes with a notably amusing bug, given the Minecraft 1.8 update preview build's focus on underwater content, which means that the release of the Minecraft snapshot 14w25b will come soon.
