The upcoming LG G3 Mini is one of the most awaited and speculated compact smartphones of this year. A recent leak suggests that the compact LG G3 Mini smartphone will feature a 4.5 inches display, whereas the flagship LG G3 boasts a 5.5 inches screen. Interestingly, the LG G2 Mini comes with a 4.7 inches screen size. Therefore, the upcoming LG G3 Mini will be 0.2 inches smaller than the predecessor LG G2 Mini.
Models pose for photographs with LG Electronics' flagship G3 high-end smartphone at its unveiling ceremony in Seoul May 28, 2014. South Korea's LG Electronics Inc launched a revamped version of its flagship G3 high-end smartphone at a discount to its predecessor model on Wednesday and said it would ship more than 10 million units to improve its ailing handset business.
The recently leaked LG G3 Mini specifications also include a 5 megapixel rear-facing camera unit and a 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor. In addition, the LG G3 Mini will come with 8 GB of internal storage. There is no information available on the microSD card support. Nevertheless, the LG G2 Mini comes with a microSD card slot that supports expansion up to 32 GB. Hence, it is safe to say that the LG G3 Mini will also come with microSD card support.
Also, the G3 Mini handset will run on Google's latest Android 4.4 KitKat OS and it will house a good 2100 mAh Lithium-Polymer battery unit. Other LG G3 Mini specifications include support to 4G LTE connectivity. According to the same source, the quoted price for the 'testing unit' of LG G3 Mini is Rs. 13501; therefore, the actual product might not exceed Rs. 20000 bracket, which roughly translates to US$333 and AU$354.
It is worth noting that, the South Korean multinational LG launched its flagship smartphone, the G3, very recently on May 27, 2014. Even though, the phone was released immediately in some parts of the Asian markets, the phone is yet to make a landfall in other parts of the world.
The LG G3 will be released towards the end of June in the UK and July in the U.S. With the pending LG G3 release, the compact version can only be expected to launch in Q4 of 2014. However, there is no official information on the launch date. But at the moment, the compact version of LG G3 has landed in India for further testing and evaluation.
