Miss U.S.A. Nia Sanchez’s Embarrassing Moment on ‘The Todd Show’ [PHOTOS]

Miss Nevada Nia Sanchez, who was crowned as Miss U.S.A., recently faced an awkward moment when she could not tell the capital of her home state. This happened during an interview with "The Todd Show" on June 16.

Nia was asked the capital of Nevada in a quiz on the radio show, but she struggled as words like 'Oh', 'Ah', 'Um' came out of her mouth.

"Oh, um, ah, oh my gosh," said Miss U.S.A. Nia Sanchez.

That is not Nevada's capital for sure.

The host helped her out and provided the correct answer - Carson City.

"Thank you, I was going to say that! I was like, that one DJ host on MTV, back in the day, his name, that's how I always remembered it," said Nia.

"Carson Daly, yeah," said the host.

According to TMZ, Nia won the title of Miss U.S.A. after becoming Miss Nevada, but she lived in California and even participated in Miss California three times. Sadly, she lost each time.

Nia was accused of faking her residency.

According to FOX411, Nia "never actually moved to Nevada, but continued to work at Disney and live in California, setting up some minimum paper trail to appear like she was in Nevada and allow her to compete."

The source also mentioned that the beauty queen competed for Miss Calfornia in 2010, 2011 and 2012.

Nia rubbished the reports and stated that Las Vegas is her home.

"I have a house there with a friend," said Nia to FOX411.

"I actually had an agent that was working [with me] in Nevada a lot so I figured why not work in that state, and then I looked into the pageant program because I had done pageants before."

What do you think of Nia Sanchez forgetting the capital of her home state?
