Apple has more than 15 years of history with hit products and popular releases. Nonetheless, analysts appear to agree with the statement of the company's executive recently saying that Apple has yet "the best product pipeline" to release. According Apple Senior Vice President Eddy Cue: "We want to do a few really incredible things." Not to mention the series of products and services the company has already revealed during its Worldwide Developers Conference.
Apple CEO Tim Cook departs the stage following his keynote address at the Worldwide Developers Conference in San Francisco, California.
"I believe certain products we've got coming are great." Eddy Cue added during his note at the Code Conference in Ranchos Palos Verdes, California last May 28. According to Forbes, as Apple's stock price managed to break predictions and reach a 52-week high, analysts have been changing their long-term forecasts for the company. Stock price went up to $644.17 reaching a new record high in 52 weeks from May 30. TIME also named several products that can put Apple ahead of the pack: iBeacon, Apple TV, larger iPhone and new iPads.
The hype these days has been on the "Internet of Things." This means televisions, home devices, refrigerators and even thermostats. There has been growing interest over connecting such devices to the internet and turning them into smart units. In 2013, Apple launched the iBeacon technology. This allows iPhones and iPads to connect to other devices using Bluetooth. Although the technology is still young, Apple has reportedly been working on transforming the iPhone into a smart home device. This means users can control their television sets, air condition units and even refrigerators using their phones in the future.
News about Apple TV started surfacing several months back. However, despite the hype, people may have to wait longer as Apple's Eddy Cue said that the company has been working on fixing its television experience - the fix remains a complicated task for Apple. Nonetheless, once Apple becomes ready, Reticle Research analyst, Ross Rubin, says that Apple can transform the current television experience. Rubin suggests that Apple should work on unifying user experience including view, search and play media functions. If the company can pull this off then it may gain traction against HBO or Netflix.
iPhone and iPad
The iPhone 5s introduced the TouchID feature which may find its way to this year's iPad line. According to 9toMac, Apple has already hinted developers about a bigger screen and new screen resolution for iPhone. The Xcode 6 offers a new iOS simulator that allows developers to change the size of the screen to any arbitrary resolution. The site has also reported about Apple's plans to keep the iPhone resolution to 1704×960 until it can assure its interface and app work well with the bigger screen. The new multi-resolution software will help developers prepare if Apple comes out with devices featuring new form factor. TIME also reported that Apple may come out with thinner and faster iPhones. The iPad may also get a refresh but Apple has remained tight-lipped about it. Analysts like Ming-Chi Kuo predicted previously about a larger iPad. According to Rubin: "Over time, products are going to be better than they have been in the past. That could lead many companies to say that they have the strongest products in the pipeline than they've ever had."
