LG G3 vs Samsung Galaxy S5 vs HTC One M8: LG May Have Just Won against Samsung and HTC

LG's launch of the G2 marked the company's increasing efforts to compete in the high end or premium smartphom market arena. This time, LG ramps up the notch with the LG G3. The release of the handset also pitted LG against competitors like the HTC One M8 and the Samsung Galaxy S5. The series of specs offered by the device was enough to convince some that it may be one of the best smartphones around.

According to Forbes, LG's G3 may have just gone past Samsung Galaxy S5 and HTC One M8 in terms of specs and potential overall user experience. PC Advisor also considers the LG G3 as the best smartphone yet for this year. To get a sense of what the attention and response is all about; a look at LG G3's specs should help.
The device runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad-core SoC clocked at 2.5GHz with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage. There is also another variant with 32GB internal storage and 3GB RAM. It also packs on a removable 3000 mAh battery, NFC, Bluetooth, LTE, 802.11ac+ wireless connectivity, microSD for expandable memory and Android 4.4.2 KitKat. The handset weighs 149g and measures 146.3 x 74.6 x 8.9mm. LG has also included a range of interesting accessories like the "QuickCircle" folio case and a wireless-charging stand.
The handset features a slimmer build compared to the G2. According to reports, while the device sports dimensions similar to competitors, it is impressive to see LG squeeze in all features in those dimensions.
Against HTC One M8 and Samsung Galaxy S5
LG's G3 share similar specifications with the HTC One M8 and the Galaxy S5. The devices share similar OS, SoC and RAM configurations. LG's G3 stands out from competition particularly for its camera, screen and industrial design. It also offers Android customizations ensuring excellent user experience. What is interesting is that it is the first handset to feature a quad-HD display in the United States.
LG's G3 offers 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution and a pixel density of 538ppi. Likewise, the IPS display comes with an impressive RGB sub-pixel arrangement ensuring great color reproduction and sharpness. Camera configurations on the device are also worth mentioning. It has a 13MP primary camera that comes with dual-LED flashes, optical image stabilization and an extremely laser-autofocus system. LG promises autofocus as fast as .279 seconds. Although it will be hard to test that, it can be considered as one of the fastest for a smartphone.
The LG G3 will be available in several colors: Moon Violet, Shine Gold, Silk White, Burgundy Red and Metallic Black.
